Professor José Mª Garcia-Mina Freire is a prominent researcher in the field of agricultural chemistry, with a strong track record in academia and the business world. He earned his doctorate in Chemical Sciences from the University of Navarra, focusing on the effect of humic systems on plant development. In addition to his academic and research career at the University of Navarra, he has been involved in applying research in the business world. García-Mina Freire held key positions at the multinational Roullier Group, where he directed the Research and Development (R&D) of its Spanish subsidiary (Timac Agro España) from 1989 to 2014, and also served as Deputy Director of R&D for the multinational from 2007 to 2014. His scientific output includes 247 papers, including high-impact journals such as the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Plant Physiology, New Phytol, Mol Plant, Plant Cell, PNAS, Nature Chemical Biology, Nature Plants, and Current Biology.
