Ph.D. in Agronomy and International Agricultural Development from Cornell University. His research has focused on plant nutrient function and transport, as well as nutrient management in agricultural ecosystems. He currently serves as Chair of the Scientific Committee for the Responsible Use of Plant Nutrients and is a Professor and Researcher in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of California, Davis.
