
Dra. Macarena Gerding González
Specialist in Agricultural Microbiology
She holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Agronomy at the University of Concepción and a specialist in agricultural microbiology. Her work focuses on plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), with an emphasis on developing bioinputs that enhance abiotic stress tolerance in crops. She has led applied research on cherry and other species, promoting more sustainable agriculture through the use of beneficial microorganisms. Her innovative approach has significantly contributed to advancing knowledge on plant–microorganism symbiosis and the efficient use of natural resources.
